About Us
A Respectful Approach to Learning
Every child is unique, progress looks different for every child. At RST, we build genuine connections with our swimmers, creating a safe and supportive environment where learning can happen naturally. When a child feels anxious or overwhelmed, we don’t push—we listen, empathise, and support.
We believe that children may forget techniques, but they will always remember how they felt in the water.

Supporting Fear, Confidence and Growth
We acknowledge all fears, even those that may seem small.
Emotional Safety is just as important as Physical Safety.
“No, means wait.”
By allowing children to express their boundaries, we help them develop self-awareness, confidence, and decision-making skills that are essential in and out of the pool. Through clear preparation and gentle progression, we reduce anxiety and build trust at every step.

How We Help Swimmers Succeed
Our teaching is guided by three key strategies:
-
Success Breeds Success – Small wins build confidence and motivation.
-
Strengths First – We develop what a swimmer can do while gently supporting areas for growth.
-
Clear, Age-Appropriate, Learning through our in-house program, which the most current Swimsafer program is incoporated – Skills are broken down into manageable, meaningful steps.

Tailored for Every Swimmer
With structured routines, thoughtful progression, Swimmers feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
We adapt our lessons to suit different ages, personalities and aquatic readiness.

Meet the Team
Behind every lesson is a teacher who leads with respect. Our teachers are not just swim educators — they are patient listeners, careful observers, and trusted guides who meet each swimmer where they are. Every connection begins with empathy, because confidence in the water starts with feeling understood.

What Success Looks Like at RST
Success isn’t just about perfect technique. At RST, we follow the 3 Es:

Educate

Encourage

Empower
When these are in place, swimmers gain confidence, resilience, and a genuine enjoyment of the water.
At Respectful Swim Teaching, we’re not just teaching children how to swim—we’re helping them build a lifelong, positive relationship with water.
